Open Tour 2 Preview (Part 1)

For Tour 2 this weekend we should have more players and a strong squad. Heck, we might even have enough for separate O/D lines. Looking forward to it definitely, just a little worried about the weather not being kind to us for the first game wearing of our brand spanking new, and truly awesome (but hand wash only) kit.

Here's a preview of the matches, and again I will attempt to predict the group finishing positions and anticipate our competition going into crossovers/quarters/semis/finals.

Saturday
Game 1 vs Jest Ridisculous
First game against newly promoted JR who have quite possibly the most ridiculous name on Tour, and, until we got our kit, could also boast the most outrageous kit on tour. This should be a good start to the weekend for us, and we should be aiming to beat them to prepare for the harder games of the weekend. Of course, anything can happen and they did runner up at B-Tour at Tour 1, so they aren't going to be a walkover.

Game 2 vs Fire 2
Should be a tough test of how far we've come so far. Had a shocking loss against them at Fog Lane cup. Don't know what their line up is going to be like, but they suffered a drop in seeding at Tour 1. Due to teams dropping out they are seeded 12th at this tour and are most definitely a top 12 team, however, this is where we are aiming to be, and higher, and if we have to go through Fire 2 to do it then so be it. Bring it on.

I don't see us losing to JR and I think we can beat Fire 2. If we top our group we will be crossing over against 2nd place in a group which has Cambridge, EMO and Wessex in. I underestimated Cambridge for the last tour and they really climbed the rankings, so I would anticipate them winning this group, and then it is really hard to tell who will come second out of EMO and Wessex. Regardless, we should be beating either team, and have done so in all previous encounters, so we should be in the Top 12 going on this.
If we lose to Fire 2, which is not an impossibility, the cross over against Cambridge should be tough, but I don't really know much about their team. I think either way we can break into the top 12 with the team we will have for this weekend and I'm looking forward to a tough crossover either way.
